Reach Truck
To be able to keep storage areas orderly and to store pallets of goods and supplies, a reach truck could be utilized. The reach truck is available in quite a few models: the stand-up reach, double-deep reach and straddle reach.
The simplest kind is the stand-up. The truck forks slide underneath the pallet and move it to the correct storage place. The forks slide the pallet into place. This particular type of reach truck is recommended when shelving units are just one pallet deep.
The double-deep reach truck is like the stand-up, but is best for workplaces where shelving units are deep enough to have two pallets of goods. This particular version consists of telescopic forks designed to put the pallet at the rear of the shelving unit. This saves having to push the pallet back when another pallet must go into the same shelving section.
Straddle reaches have the additional advantage of being able to not only slide under the pallet, but also to grasp the sides. These are recommended for workplaces where shelving units are accessible in many directions. This model is best in conditions where goods will not be damaged if the pallet sides are grabbed.
Normally more than one kind of reach truck is required inside warehouses. Textile firms and manufacturing facilities use various kinds of reach trucks in their supply areas. The reach truck is not difficult to utilize and can maximize available storage space while increasing productivity.
