Types of Aisles
Wide Aisle and Narrow Aisle lift trucks are classed due to the types of aisles they have been designed to operate in. These equipments could turn in an aisle, while Very Narrow Aisle trucks really don't turn in the aisle. There are certain aisle widths to take into account with various models.
Very Narrow Aisle trucks can work in less than 6 feet places, while some would utilize certain guidance systems like optical, rail or wire systems in order to travel in the aisles. Several various models of VNA trucks consist of Order Selectors, Turret Trucks and Swing Masts. These are popular models in tight retail spaces and in some warehouse and storage situations.
Narrow Aisle trucks could work in aisles from 8 feet to 10 feet wide. Generally these are stand-up units such as Reach Trucks. They are usually used within storage facilities and warehouses.
Wide Aisle Standard forklifts fall into this truck category and are designed to work in aisles that are more than 11 feet wide.
Stand-Up Ergonomics
The stand-up ergonomics include "Ergomat" padding with a sloped floorboard which is made to reduce operator exhaustion by absorbing vibration. The compartment for the operator is big and has an 8" low step height that helps lessen overall body exhaustion by easing frequent exit and entry. The unit consists of polyurethane steer tires to absorb shocks and vibration caused by uneven floor in order to enable smooth traveling. For added comfort, there is a cushioned armrest and floor mat together with a backrest designed to help keep operators comfortable and therefore more productive while limiting fatigue.
