Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Corpus Christi

Caterpillar Pneumatic Tire Forklifts Corpus Christi

Use a Pneumatic Forklift

Pneumatic forklifts are common in shipping and warehouse operations. Also called pallet trucks or pump trucks, they are used in order to move products and materials around on wooden pallets utilizing metal forks which are mounted on a wheeled counterweight. The counterweight includes a pump that lifts the forks off the ground. A pallet truck is intended to be operated by a single individual.

Pallet trucks must be operated carefully to avoid loss of control while raising heavy loads. Equipment must be checked prior to operating. Clear the wheels area of any obstructions. Check that the handle could smoothly turn. The pallet should be carefully stacked to be able to guarantee that nothing will fall off during transportation.

To release air in the pump and lower the forks, squeeze the lever located on the inside of the metal loop on the end of the pallet truck's handle. The forks could then be pushed into the pallet slots. The forks should be in the middle to be able to ensure equal distribution of the pallet's weight across them. Lift the forks from the ground by pumping the pneumatic lift's handle until the pallet has fully cleared the ground. Do not raise the pallet very high or the forklift could unbalance.

Move the pallet by pulling on the handle and then dragging it behind you. It is truly dangerous to push the pallet ahead of you as the thrust can cause it to go out of control. Take turns slowly and don't try to stop suddenly. Stop slowly, squeeze the lever, and the forks would lower to the ground. Lastly, remove the forks from the pallet by pulling them out. Return the pallet truck to its permanent location.
