Telescopic lift trucks
Telescopic forklift models are outfitted with a pronged lift on an arm that extends over the top of the truck offering great height and versatility. The crane, or arm, is called a telescopic boom. The boom enables the operator to maintain a high degree of control while raising the cargo to great heights. Standard forklifts aren't able to move the cargo towards and away from the cab of the forklift, whereas a telescopic forklift allows that movement. The telescopic forklift is normally utilized in both construction and agriculture. It is recommended for applications where greater control and lift is needed.
In cases needing high volume carton handling, hydraulic attachments called forklift carton clamp attachments are better. The attachment has arm pads with four way reversible rubber linings that allow the operator to utilize uniform clamping force when picking up a cargo. It is available with a backrest which protects the cargo from damage.
A slip sheet attachment fits onto a slip sheet forklift. It is utilized for storing systems which don't utilize pallets. The attachment clamps onto the slip sheet and pulls it onto the forks on the forklift. This type of system is handy for intra-corporate deliveries and for overseas shipments.
A lift platform which is designed to lift staff is called a Man Basket. It attaches to the forks on the forklift and a strap or chain is used to attach the basket to the lift truck carriage. The platform has railings to protect the employees from falling to the ground. Brackets on the platform are utilized for fastening the worker's safety harness.
