Bud Bushnell established Genie Industries during 1966, after he purchased the manufacturing rights to a material lift which functioned on compressed air. The name Genie originated from the "magic in the bottle" that was utilized to lower and raise the hoist. This mechanism greatly impressed customers and therefore, the name was established.
Genie expanded operations and established itself into different new markets, since the need for platforms and work lifts grew. Over time, when the requirements for new machines to meet many applications grew, the company made itself recognized in many new markets. For instance, Genie went into manufacturing telehandlers, stick booms, light towers, man-lifts and articulated booms.
Genie decided to secure a partner who had the same values as a result of the economic downturn during the beginning of the 2000s, when they partnered along with Terex. This company has a history acquiring machine manufacturers throughout the world who proved to be a good business match. Genie Industries was sold in the year 2002 and became a part of Terex Corporation.
Due to the Genie name and its solid reputation within the workplace, it was decided to maintain the Genie brand name as part of the Terex Aerial Work Platforms. This was just decided after the initial few years following the sale. Therefore, all Genie equipment continue to be marketed under the Genie brand.
Genie takes pride in listening to their clients. The company is dedicated to continually improving efficiency and quality and is also committed to lessening waste. Even long after the sale has been closed, the company focuses on offering exceptional support. These are the very work practices which have made Genie a trusted brand over the last decades and continue to keep their reputation for top-of-the-line and quality equipment.
Genie's DC and Bi-Energy machines are emission-free, quiet machinery capable of working in delicate work settings. Where the machine must be driven significant distances, such as within industrial situations, the Genie bi-energy system combines the benefits of a 48V DC machinery along with the power of a diesel-powered generator.
Compared to any of the different kinds of aerial platforms, telescopic booms offer greater horizontal reach overall. These equipment are ideal for limited access places in construction and other industrial environments. The Genie Telescopic S booms have been engineered to provide utmost productivity. These equipment deliver the drive speed and supreme traction you require in order to travel around the work site and job area.
